The site
- This site describes the product, offers the optional Pro subscription, and lets you manage your account. Features and dates announced as upcoming are plans, not promises; see the roadmap note on the front page.
- Joining the waitlist creates no account and no obligation on either side. You can leave at any time (see Privacy).
The extension
- What it does. Aibrify Translate shows bilingual subtitles for videos you watch in your own logged-in browser session, translates pages and text you select, lets you look up words, and keeps a vocabulary book on your device. The free features are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law; Pro is covered by the section below.
- Your responsibilities. You use the extension with your own accounts and are responsible for complying with the terms of the websites you use it on and, if you bring your own API key, with the terms of that translation provider. Keys you add are yours; charges from your provider are between you and them.
- Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aibrify is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the free extension; our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for it (zero for the free tier). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Stopping. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the extension — your settings and vocabulary book go with it. We may stop distributing or updating the extension, or remotely disable a feature that breaks when a platform changes its pages, at any time.
- Changes. We may update the extension and these terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. If you keep using the extension after a change takes effect, that counts as acceptance; if you disagree, simply uninstall — nothing more is asked of you.
Pro subscription
- Plans and prices. Pro is an optional subscription: US$39.99 per year or US$4.99 per month. Prices are shown before local taxes; the tax-inclusive total for your country is shown at checkout before you pay. Pro is sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle") as merchant of record — Paddle's checkout terms also apply to the purchase.
- What you get, and the fair-use quota. Pro includes AI-translated subtitle tracks and AI line-by-line explanations, with a fair-use quota per billing period of 160,000 subtitle-translation lines and 2,500 explanations. "about 120 hours" is an estimate for typical film or lecture subtitles; auto-generated subtitles use more lines. When you reach the quota, AI features pause until the period resets and subtitles fall back to the free engines described in our privacy policy — we never hide this: you see it in the extension, and we email you at 80 % and 100 %. Unused quota does not carry over. Features marked "rolling out" become available as we ship them; we won't charge for what isn't there.
- Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage subscription (the Paddle customer portal); you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Refunds. Yearly plans: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of a purchase or renewal, no questions asked — email support@aibrify.com and we refund through Paddle. Monthly plans: refunds according to your statutory rights where you live, plus a pro-rata refund whenever we make an adverse change (next item). Residents of South Korea may withdraw within 7 days of purchase under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
- Changes to Pro. We may change Pro prices, quotas or features for legitimate reasons: our costs from AI providers change, features are added, removed or replaced, or the law requires it. Any change that is worse for you takes effect no earlier than 30 days after we email you about it; before it takes effect you can cancel free of charge and receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid period. A quota reduction never applies to a period you have already paid for. Prepaid credits for document translation have their own section below.
- AI content. Translations and explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. They are provided for learning and convenience only, not as professional advice of any kind (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). Check anything that matters against the original.
- Third-party platforms. The extension works inside websites we do not control (such as YouTube). Their changes can stop features working, and their terms apply to your use of them. We do not guarantee that any platform will keep working with the extension, and we may disable a feature that a platform breaks.
- Liability for Pro. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for anything connected with Pro is limited to the amount paid for Pro in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
- Accounts. One person, one Aibrify account — whether you sign in with Google or with an email address and password; keep it to yourself. We may suspend an account that abuses the service (for example, automated bulk requests) after emailing you. You can delete your account at any time from the extension or the account page.
Credits
- What credits are. Credits are a prepaid balance for the document pipeline (layout-preserving PDF and Office translation, high-accuracy OCR, large files). 1 credit is one text page; a scanned page costs 2 credits; a slide costs 1; Word and Excel text costs 1 credit per 2,000 characters. The rates are shown on the pricing page and in every quote before you start a job.
- One-time purchase. Credit packs are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Buying a pack is not a subscription: nothing renews, and we keep no card on file. Credits do not reset monthly and have no expiry date. They are tied to your account and cannot be transferred or converted to money.
- Quotes and charging. You see the price of a job before you upload. When a job starts we hold the quoted credits; when it finishes we charge only for the pages actually delivered, and never more than the quote. A job that fails costs nothing — the hold is released. Held credits not settled within 48 hours are released automatically.
- Free and bonus credits. New accounts with a verified email address can claim a small one-time trial balance. Pro subscriptions include 50 credits per billing period. Trial and bonus credits follow the same rules and never expire, but they have no cash value and are not refundable.
- Refunds. An untouched pack — no credit from it used — can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase: email support@aibrify.com and we refund through Paddle. Once any credit from a pack has been used, the pack is not refundable, because you could preview the result before paying. A refund or chargeback removes the corresponding credits from your balance, which can then be negative until you buy again. Mandatory consumer rights where you live are not affected; residents of South Korea may withdraw within 7 days under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
- Changes. We may change pack prices and rates for future purchases; credits you already hold keep their value in pages. If we ever discontinue the pipeline, we refund unused purchased credits.
License and content
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension. Its code, name and design belong to Aibrify. Subtitles, videos and other platform content belong to their rightful owners: the extension only displays, inside your own session, subtitles the platform already serves to you, and gives you no rights to that content. Dictionary data is derived from Wiktionary via kaikki.org under CC BY-SA 4.0 — see the attribution page.
Trademarks and third parties
YouTube, Chrome and Edge are trademarks of their respective owners. Aibrify Translate is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
General
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to use the extension.
